I’ve been troubled for a while now with iPhone speaker interference. You know what that is: place the iPhone anywhere near your speakers (office, car) and have a buzzing noise regularly blast through them.
The fix: cut out a small piece of tin foil, place it on your desk/dashboard, then put the iPhone on top of it. Instantly stops the racket. Marvellous.
To make my saviour tin foil more aesthetically pleasing I’ve cut it the same size as the cleaning cloth that came with the iPhone, and placed the cloth over the top of it. Looks pretty nice.

We were only saying the other day – wouldn’t it be great to have a Stylophone on the iPhone…
Most excellent.

I can’t believe the news that VisualHub has been discontinued! I only found out today whilst cracking the app open to convert some movie footage sent by a client, via the ’software update’ mechanism.
I absolutely love VisualHub – it works beautifully, and is a key part of my work toolset, especially as more and more clients are demanding video on their websites. I can have most movie formats in FLV format in no time.
Whatever the reasons, I just want to say thanks VisualHub – all the best to the developers in future ventures.

Yes!! My absolute favourite Mac troubleshooting utility is now available for Leopard.
Don’t know what Applejack is? Basically, it’s a utility you can run without a Mac OS X installation DVD, particularly useful if your Mac won’t boot and you can’t use (or don’t have) the DVD. read more »

I can’t express how much I’m absolutely loving the Remote iPhone app.
Oddly I missed this on the first launch of the store. I’m sat here happily controlling the tunes playing from the Mac Book Pro (which is located way up in the office upstairs) whilst sat in the living room, but through various speakers around the house, all via the Airport Express units scattered around the place.
It’d be an amazing app anyway just to be able to remotely use iTunes with such complete control, but to be able to designate which remote Airport Express unit to pipe the music through, anywhere in the house, makes this simply killer.
Love it.
