Out with the old…

by Dave Foy on October 18, 2008

It’s no secret that at Definition (the small web design agency I run) we work either remotely or from a small office based at my home and it suits us very, very well indeed.

While it’s undeniably a well-equipped, dedicated space, I’d been feeling for a while that it was getting a bit tired and could do with at least a touch of sprucing.

Like with most things, my motto always turns out to be – ‘Why do things by halves?!’ – so the initial intention of a lick of paint and a new chair rapidly ballooned into an entire office facelift from top to bottom.

Out went all the desks and all the chairs. Out went pretty much all the paper, filing cabinets, storage, etc. On the walls went a completely new paint job (a rather fetching fresh green and dark chocolate brown combination). In came a whole set of brand new desks and chairs.

And all I can say is: “Ah.. that’s better!” It only took 4 trips to IKEA and 5 trips to B&Q too!

This picture taken from my phone doesn’t do it much justice – but I can assure you it’s much improved!
