I rarely notice TV adverts, let alone allow myself to be affected by them. One advert recently, however, is winding me up to complete distraction – nay, total rage!
It’s the advert for Ariel washing powder – “Let’s all turn to 30″ – where the voiceover urges people to turn their washing machines to 30° and thus save the planet.
So – if the ad is so keen to get us to turn our washing machines to 30° (an honourable aim, don’t get me wrong…) why the jibberty hell does the woman on the ad insist on turning the damn dial to bloody 35° – every single time!
Words fail me. Why spend umpteen hundreds of thousands of pounds on an advert, of which the whole point is to drum home the turning of a dial to 30°, and then spend the whole advert consistently and purposefully failing to do so. Surely if you were spending that much money you’d make very, very, very sure that the dial actually reached 30. Surely?!
Why why why why WHY!!!
I’m extrememly cross and won’t sleep tonight now.
