For the love of Things

by Dave Foy on July 11, 2008

My love affair with Things (a desktop GTD app for Mac OS X) is no secret. I use it in almost every moment of every single day, just love it.

I’ve been really excited about Things for iPhone, ever since the guys at Cultured Code first mentioned it (probably around the time that the iPhone 2.0 software and the iTunes App store were announced). Mostly I’ve been looking forward to finally having the proper tools for ubiquitous capture into 1 trusted system that’s such a central tenet to the GTD philosophy.

It’s finally here.

Things Touch available in the app store

A little disappointingly, the version 1.0 release of the iPhone version of Things actually doesn’t sync to the desktop version, which makes it pretty pointless for me at the moment. Sure, I can start to get used to it now (and the introductory early-adopter price of just £5.99 is pretty sweet too!) but it does feel a little like it was rushed out for iPhone App Store launch day, with such a crucial feature missing.

No real complaints from me though. I know that syncing is coming in a free update very soon and when it does, it’s going to be one killer GTD app combination.

I love Things :)
